Only restart of X helps to free up memory Killing mosf of the apps doesnt reduce X's memory usage. I would still claim its something wrong with xorg-x11, my x86 desktop has same programs running and this never happens. Try opening top and closing/killing any apps in X one at a time to see if it makes any difference. Sometimes it isn't Xorg that's using the memory, but some other app running in X. I leave my computer running all the time so it happend allways but havnt figgured out how long does ti take. I usually leave the room for a bit, come back and all my ram is in use. I have never actually seen it happen though.
Havnt seen the smae problem on x86 just on amd64 install.
